Expert guidance shared from GRI’s Business Leadership Forum
A series of discussion sessions between business leaders and key stakeholder groups about reporting on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) have resulted in new resources being made freely available to the global sustainability reporting community.
GRI’s Business Leadership Forum (BLF) on Corporate Reporting as a Driver to Achieving the SDGshas brought together a cohort of companies committed to deepening their contributions in support of the SDGs. This program includes regular workshops, best practice masterclasses and knowledge sharing.
Following the release of two outcome papers in 2021, three further publications are now available:
- Summary Paper 3 – Aligning Corporate Reporting and Investing Towards the SDGs: Delving into how asset managers and ESG data providers are using SDGs-related information to assess their investment decisions, the paper shines a light on how businesses can optimize their reporting to the needs of investors.
- Summary Paper 4 – The Role of Reporting Provisions in Driving the Sustainable Development Agenda Forward: Offers a snapshot of what regulators, stock exchanges and investors think about SDG reporting, and what changes can be expected in the future. Practical recommendations are included on how to improve corporate reporting on the SDGs.
- Summary Paper 5 – Leading From the Top – the Role of C-Suite and Corporate Board in Driving Business Action on the SDGs: With executive-level insights on delivering on corporate sustainability goals and driving action on the SDGs more broadly, it sets out the importance of integrating sustainability into the broader business strategy.
Peter Paul van de Wijs, Chief Policy Officer, said:
“Collaboration and information sharing is one of the most critical elements in mobilizing efforts to deliver on the SDGs. This is something that no business, government, or organization can do alone.
By making available these summary reports from our Business Leadership Forum, we seek to encourage organizations to use the recommendations and insights to improve how they approach SDG reporting. Ultimately, this is about quickening the action needed to secure a more prosperous future for people and planet.”
